Struthers-Dunn

The essential business of Struthers-Dunn inc. was producing relays, but through their involvement with Ford developed a PLC. They were able to build a prototype unit named the VIP in time for display at the 1970 Machine Tool Show. In 1971 a VIP was installed for a beta site evaluation at the Ford Chicago Heights Stamping Plant and operated for several years. Sales of the VIP began in 1972. It was a Struthers-Dunn inc. PLC Model 75415
